Top Ten Tuesday -- 10 Finished Series I Haven't Finished!

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke And The Bookish.
I decided to start participating in more memes, especially since the last time I've done a TTT was December . . . of LAST YEAR! Terrible, I know! Anywho, this week's topic is:

Ten FINISHED Series I Haven't Finished!

Vampire Academy | Richelle Mead
Vampire Academy Series
Number of books: 6

EVERYONE and their mama loves Vampire Academy, meanwhile I'm in my corner cringing at how many books are in the series. I purchased the first book months ago out of curiosity as to why people love it so much, but I haven't made it a priority read. This past month I told myself that I want to knock out more series, so VA I shall read you soon.

Bloodlines Series
Number of books: 4

A spin-off to the Vampire Academy series. Who knows when I'll get to this.

Does anyone else not like these covers? EW.

City Of Bones | Cassandra Clare
Mortal Instruments Series
Number of Books: 6

If you guys remember my Readers Choice post " Never Would I Ever, " City of Bones and Red Hot Kiss were the two books chosen for me to read. I haven't forgotten guys, so after I knock out all of my arcs, I'm definitely diving in. I've heard mixed things about this series, as well as the author so we shall see what I think.

The Infernal Devices Trilogy
Number of books: 3

Yes I know this isn't a series, but because The Mortal Instruments is a spin-off (or the other way around I don't know) from this, I decided to include it. Clockwork Angel is another book I purchased out of curiosity. Apparently the cat wasn't too curious because I still haven't read it yet lol.

The Selection Series
Number of books: 4

The Selection is actually a series I've been wanting to read but just haven't been in the mood to do so. I'm constantly being told that I'd love it, and that it's such a guilty to read, so soon guys, SOON

House Of Night Series
Number of books: 12

I actually don't ever plan to read these books because WHO HAS TIME TO READ 12 BOOKS

NOT I THAT'S WHO!

The ratings and reviews on each book aren't that motivating either . .

Lux Series
Number of books: 5

2 reasons why I was so hesitant to read these books:

1) The covers are terrible. Yes I said it.
2) I read Wait For You by Jennifer and disliked it so much, I vowed to never pick another book from her again.

Well of course that changed, because I purchased the bind-up Lux: The Beginnings for my birthday and I plan on starting it as soon as I finished up some arcs! To everyone who pressured me to read it, I better like it!

Covenant Series
Number of books: 4

Now that I'm more into Urban Fantasy, I definitely want to pick this up. These covers are in my opinion, her best yet, so I'm even more motivated to not only START, but FINISH this series.

Study Series
Number of books: 6 (Including sequel series)

I first purchased Poison Study after a recommendation from a good blogger friend. Of course I haven't read it yet, (I obviously have commitment issues when it comes to series) but I must say I'm very excited to start it. I'm so intrigued by the " sequel series " as everyone is calling it, and Shadow Study is on the top of my TBR. Which means I should probably read the first 3 asap huh? lol. There are two more books being released in the sequel series I believe, making it incomplete but whatever, I wanted to include it anyway!

The Heros Of Olympus series
Number of books: 5

Every time I go to buy this book so that I can kick start the series, there's a little voice in the back of my head that says, " Read this and you'll betray Harry Potter, " and well . . . we can't go doing that now can we?

So that's my list of 10 finished series I haven't finished . . . or started in my case lol.

So What are some series you haven't finished?

Waiting On Wednesday -- Must Haves!

" Waiting on Wednesday " is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking The Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating. I haven't participated in quite some time, and I'm soooo excited for this upcoming release!

Guys, I haven't done a Waiting on Wednesday post in foreverrrr, and with all the amazing releases coming out, (especially for 2016) I figured I'd jump back in and showcase 4 titles that I consider my absolute must haves!

As of right now, this is definitely my most anticipated release. I adore science fiction, and I honestly don't read enough of it, but my goodness this just screams ME

Anywho, read the synopsis, thank me later.

18 . College . Mental Institution . Dysfunctional Family .

Enough Said.

" Can You Outrun Destiny?

Probably not, but with that fire ass horse I could!

HOLY SHIT THAT SYNOPSIS

I feel like the " western trend " in YA is about to be the new bandwagon, but it seriously seems like Michelle has one hell of concept on her hands. I love revenge stories, and just by the blurb she's giving me LIFE and then some! This is my second anticipated read of next year!

So that's all for this week guys!
Are any of these titles on your radar? What other books are you looking forward to?

Feature & Follow Friday -- Curing A Reading Slump

Welcome to Feature and Follow Friday, a weekly meme hosted by the wonderful bloggers, Parajunkee and Alison Can Read. The goal of this blog hop is to gain followers, discover new blogs, and make new friends!

It's been quite some time since I participated in the feature and follow meme. I've been brainstorming ideas for my blog tweaks, (which I just finished yesterday) and after I was out because of a bad sinus infection, I found myself trying to catch up on reading, reviews, and blog tours. But now I'm back, and ready to crank out some posts, starting with this weeks FF!

Question of The Week:

How Do You Cure A Book Hangover/Blogging
Slump/Reading Slump ?

This is a good question, and one that I don't exactly know how to answer. I'm never in reading slumps, * knocks on wood * but I have suffered from a blogging slump once this year. (It only lasted about a week if that lol) It wasn't necessarily a blogging slump, but more so what I like to call a " review slump " . Sometimes if I'm reviewing a book that ended up being boring or draggy, I've noticed that it makes me extremely lazy. I start to feel as if I don't want to even compose the review, and if I'm pushing myself to complete it, I become overwhelmed and then next thing you know, I'm drained of all energy, and not in the mood to do anything regarding blogging!

Book Hangovers - If I read a book that was just too damn good to pick up something else right after, I just take some time off. Maybe catch up on some posts, participate in weekly memes, things of that nature.

Blogging Slumps - When this happened to me I just simply logged off my laptop, did other tasks, watched TV shows, read, or just chilled, came back the next day with a refreshed mind, and BAM! I was able to knock out the review flawlessly.

Reading Slumps - I've never been in a reading slump before, but I I would try to read books outside of the genre that you're struggling with. If you're reading from multiple genres and still can't get into anything, try reading titles that aren't you're norm. For instance, if I'm feeling slumpy and all I've been trying to read is contemporary, I'll pick up something in maybe . . . * cough * Dystopian. It's not a genre I usually indulge in, so the fresh take on characters, plots, and so forth could be just what I need to get out of my slump! Oh and try re-reading your favorite novels! It's nothing like curling up with a book you absolutely love! This wouldn't work me for me, especially since I don't re-read books, however, it most certainly can work for someone who does!

& that's all! Hopefully I was able to help someone cure every bloggers worse enemy, the dreaded SLUMP!

Now I want to hear from you, what are some methods you all take to cure blogging or reading slumps?

Stacking The Shelves (8) -- Hashtag Breaking My Pockets.

This post is LONG overdue.

After I purchased SIXTEEN books in February, I told myself I wasn't going to buy another book for a while. A LONGGGG while actually. But of course I was lying because,

A. I don't believe in book buying bans
( I have no will power when it comes to books. )
AND
B. It's just way too difficult to NOT buy books
( I mean, reading is fundamental so it's cool right? )

So over the past couple of weeks, I've been making little purchases here and there, and now I have a list of books that I'm so excited to share.

Did anyone notice how that rhymed? lol.

The Can't-Believe-I-Purchased-This Books

If you asked me last year if I was going to pick up any of these books, the answer would have been a very quick NO. My bookish tastes have changed tremendously, and I find myself making purchases that surprise even myself!

The Selection - Kiera Cass
I have no clue WHY I never wanted to read this book. It's been recommended to me so many times, so I might as well see how cute, light, and funny it really is.

Game Of Thrones - George R.R Martin
Come on, ME reading a 800 page HIGH FANTASY book? Last year I would've fainted if I knew I was going to finally pick this up. If there's anyone to blame it's Noelia, Felicia, Olivia, and Eduardo. With their amazing reviews, and or tweets, I finally decided to watch the TV series and I AM HOOKED. I'll be starting the first book this June with Blessie!

  After - Anna Todd
This book has so many 1 star ratings on Goodreads it's a shame. BUT, it's New Adult, in a college setting (which happens to be my fav) anddd, it's a fanfiction of my baby daddy Zayn. (Former member of One Direction)

The Academy Introductions - C.L Stone
Dear C.L Stone,
WHY ARE THERE LIKE 20 DAMN BOOKS IN THIS SERIES ?! I mean I love boarding school/academy stories but SHEESH!

Vampire Academy - Richelle Mead
I never picked up this book for the same reason I overlooked The Academy. I have commitment issues when it comes to series.

The YASS BITCH YASS Books

The Game Of Love And Death - Martha Brockenbrough
When I heard that the heroine was an African-American girl who wanted to be a pilot and jazz singer, I knew I was picking this up. Then I read that she falls in love with a Caucasian boy during the Great Depression, and I definitely KNEW I was picking it up! My mom pre-ordered it for me, so come this Tuesday, this baby WILL BE MINE ! The author is such a sweet lady! She sent me swag (which I thought was going to be a bookmark) instead they were cute items that are related to the story. I'll be snapping pics when my book arrives.

Simon Vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda - Becky Albertalli
I wanted this book the moment I read the synopsis. I mean HELLOOO it's LGBT!

Hold Me Closer - David Levithan
David Levithan . I love him . Tiny Cooper . I love him even more. It should be no surprise that when I heard he released this book, I immediately went over to Amazon and happily one-clicked it to my Kindle. I was supposed to be getting a completely different book, but all was forgotten when I seen Hold Me Closer.

The Wrong Side Of Right - Jenn Marie Thorne
Idk why I was so drawn to pick this up. It's about a politician's daughter, and lord knows I've been looking for some " spice " in YA. So Yesssss, something I haven't read about!

The Archived - Victoria Schwab
After reading A Darker Shade Of Magic, I would purchase an obituary if she wrote it! This needs NO explanation.

The I-Purchased-Because-I-Was-Bored-&-1Click-Is-The-Devil Books

The Grace Of Kings - Ken Liu
#GameOfThronesMadeMeDoIt. I was browsing Goodreads, stumbled across this cover, read the synopsis, and said " Oooooooo " all the way to Amazon. * Click, Click *

Bird Box - Josh Malerman
This was actually recommeded to me by a blogger friend on Instagram. I checked it out on Goodreads and noticed that a few of my friends on there had read and loved the story. The one review that stood out to me was Joy's from JoyousReads. It simply said: " HOLY SHIT " & that's when I KNEW I needed this book, because if Joy says " HOLY SHIT ", that means it's good. & let's not forget that the audiobook sounds AH-MAZING!

An Uncertain Choice - Jody Hedlund
#ReignMadeMeDoIt. I honestly have no clue as to why I purchased this lol. I'm obsessed with Historical Fiction, reign-ish, game of throne-ish type of books now it seems lol.

So as you probably can tell . . . I'm feeling much better! I'm ready to jump back into blogging, so be on the look out for more posts, reviews, all the good stuff that I'm behind on! & if you guys have read or recently purchased any of these books, let me know down below!

I'm rhyming again lol
